(c) Daria Prokofyeva
about:
Daria Prokofyeva is a Russian-born artist whose practice departs from photography and its (in)capacities, engaging with the transitional area between documentary and art. Her work juxtaposes photographs, texts, archival and fictional materials touching upon the questions of document, public history and memory. It often refers to the museum as a reservoir of social memory and a tool of state authority imposing knowledge. Daria studied photography at Brighton University (UK) and social science at EUSPB and RGGU (RU).
